Buchanan & Edwards has hired 25-year FBI veteran Timothy Healy as director of the government services contractor's national security business.

Healy will oversee the company's work with agencies in the law enforcement, homeland security and defense arenas. BE said Tuesday they sought Healy's knowledge of cybersecurity, intelligence, counterterrorism, and federal and international law enforcement.

He joins Buchanan & Edwards one year after its acquisition of The Reports and Requirements Company -- also known as R2C -- to add an intelligence community footprint. That was BE's first deal since its 1998 founding.

His long career with the FBI started as a special agent and culminated with service as director of its Terrorist Screening Center. He also has been deputy assistant director for its intelligence directorate and is a Marine Corps veteran.

After his FBI retirement, Healy was president of government services contractor Ikun and its customers include agencies in the defense, homeland security, federal law enforcement and intelligence communities.

Ikun provides those agencies support in areas such as security strategy, operations, logistics, information technology and cybersecurity.
