Why: Accenture’s acquisition strategy has been laser-focused and closing three deals in one year made the consulting firm a serious contender for dealmaker of the year. The company has aggressively moved to add technical skills to its consulting prowess. Endgame Federal Services and iDefense brought niche cybersecurity offerings around endpoint detection, cyber threat intelligence and software that essentially hunts for threats. The Phase One buy has helped Accenture grow its Salesforce practice and strengthen capabilities around IT modernization and digital transformation.
