FBI to revamp, integrate workflow processes
The FBI has released an RFP for a six-year contract for a commercial software system to manage its workflow and to integrated with Justice Department agencies.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation released a solicitation for an enterprise-wide software solution for expanding workflow and business process reengineering.
This is a new contract so there is no incumbent.
The FBI intends to award a six-year, firm fixed-price contract to buy a commercial software solution. Officials are looking for capabilities to meet immediate and future workflow needs of the agency, which have multiple business requirements, processes, and business functional areas.
Initially, the solution will be for 51,000 full-time personnel. Over the five option years however, other Justice Department agencies and bureaus can purchase and institute the same COTS software. The number of users could double over the six-year period.
The software will enable the FBI and DOJ agencies to become more efficient in their operations, both internally and externally. The software must include an Integrated Development Environment for standardization, increased collaboration among multiple developers, and increase throughput. The awardee must provide help-desk service.
The FBI’s Business Process Management Unit has provided the agency with enterprise automation solution since 2007, starting with the human resources and finance divisions, and has grown now to more than 28 workflow solutions.
The FBI released the request for proposal Feb. 23. Responses are due by March 14.
