Unisys' Puvvada elected PSC board chair, DOD vet McDermott named group's defense lead

Unisys' federal lead PV Puvvada becomes the Professional Services Council's board chair as former Defense Department official Ryan McDermott also joins the trade group.

Unisys said Friday its federal business lead PV Puvvada has been elected chair of the board of directors at government IT industry trade group Professional Services Council.

The selection comes nearly five months after Puvvada was elected vice chair of PSC’s executive committee and board of directors in a series of moves across the group’s various leadership panels. He is also a former chair of PSC’s civilian agencies council.

Puvvada received our sister publication FCW’s Eagle Award in 2015 as part of the annual Fed100 awards.

PSC also announced Friday it has hired former Defense Department official Ryan McDermott as vice president of the group’s defense and intelligence council. He was more recently the department’s principal director for manufacturing and industrial policy and is also a former special assistant to the Army comptroller.

McDermott is also a former employee of Booz Allen Hamilton and investment banker. He was an Army officer prior to his private sector career.
