L3 shifts execs as prep for new CEO

L3 Technologies has shifted several executives as it prepares for the arrival of a new CEO.

L3 Technologies has made a pair of executive appointments that will take effect at the start of next year as the defense contractor prepares for a transition to a CEO.

The company said Wednesday that Andrew Ivers has been promoted to president of its communications business segment and the group’s current leader John Mega will transition to senior vice president of special projects.

Both moves go into effect Jan. 1 and they will report to incoming CEO Chris Kubasik, who will become chief executive on that date to succeed the retiring Michael Strianese.

Ivers is currently president of L3’s broadband communications sector and its communication systems-west division. Since 2009, he has served as president of multiple sectors and divisions within the communication systems segment.

Prior to L3, Ivers held management and engineering positions at Harris Corp. and Raytheon.
