HDS Federal hires Serway as finance chief

Data analytics contractor Hitachi Data Systems Federal appoints 25-year market veteran Mark Serway as chief financial officer.

Data analytics contractor Hitachi Data Systems Federal has appointed 25-year government market veteran Mark Serway as chief financial officer.

Serway joins Reston, Va.-based HDS Federal after nearly four years as CFO for federal IT company Govplace.

His appointment comes nearly three months after HDS Federal acquired for an undisclosed sum the former Brocade Federal classified contract portfolio and cleared employee base. CEO David Turner told Washington Technology at the time the deal grew HDS Federal's footprint with intelligence agencies and other national security customers.

Serway is also a former CFO from Akima and his career includes stints at Employment Enterprises, Paradigm Solutions, Lockheed Martin, Getronics Government Solutions, Babcock & Wilcox and Boeing.
