AMA retains NASA engineering, tech R&D work under new $324M contract

Analytical Mechanics Associates will continue its engineering and technology research-and-development support work for NASA under a new potential five-year, $324.4 million contract.
Aeronautics and space technology services company Analytical Mechanics Associates has won a potential five-year, $324.4 million contract to continue its engineering and research-and-development services for NASA.
NASA's Technology, Engineering, and Aerospace Mission Support 3 contract covers a three-year base period with a two-year option. Hampton, Va.-based AMA won the predecessor TEAMS 2 contract in 2012 that carried a potential $327.5 million ceiling value for up to five years.
AMA will help NASA's four mission directorates and Langley Research Center with scientific research, engineering design, technology readiness, program and test implementation, systems analysis and concepts for the agency's evolving missions.
Deltek lists the contract's 12 technical discipline areas as:
- Acoustics
- Aerodynamics
- Avionics systems
- Crew systems and aviation operations
- Engineering, integration and flight hardware technology development
- Flight dynamics and controls
- Hypersonics
- Materials and advanced processing technology development
- Measurement systems
- Program and project support
- Structures
- Systems analysis and concept development
NASA awarded the original TEAMS contract to Swales Aerospace in 2006. That TEAMS version had a potential $200 million value over five years.
