Harris wins $500M NGA software contract

Harris Corp. will build data search and retrieval software for NGA under a five-year, $500 million contract.
Harris Corp. has won a five-year, $500 million contract to develop software for the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency to search for and retrieve data from intelligence systems.
Intelligence officials will use the tools to give information to warfighters and other users in the national security community. The software will work to process content from NGA, other intelligence agencies and the National System for Geospatial-Intelligence framework used to produce GEOINT information.
NGA awarded the GEOINT Search and Retrieval – Yorktown contract to Harris in January, according to Deltek.
Melbourne, Fla.-based Harris holds a separate pair of potential five-year contracts under NGA's Foundation GEOINT Content Management program to help produce geospatial data content and products. Both awarded in May 2014, one contract carries a potential value of $364.9 million over the full term and the second is worth up to $408.3 million, Deltek says.
