Navy plans showcase for tech, research needs

The Navy is offering a chance for industry to meet one-on-one with research experts as well as hear from Navy leaders about technology challenges.

The Navy is offering a chance for industry to meet one-on-one with research experts as well as hear from Navy leaders about the technology challenges they are facing.

The Navy will host its Naval Future Force Science and Technology Expo in July in Washington, DC.

The expo will be July 20 and 21 at Walter E. Washington Convention Center.

Officials from the Office of Naval Research intend to raise awareness of “Naval Research: A Framework for the Navy and Marine Corps After Next.”

ONR technical experts and senior leaders will speak at the event, including Chief of Naval Research David Hahn. The goal is introducing industry to research priorities and portfolios and discuss the challenges they face and potential research solutions. In addition, officials want to use the expo as a means to broaden its partnership base.

Along with one-on-one appointments with Naval experts, the expo will include talks about technology and sessions dealing with a range of topics, such as doing business with ONR, its current research, disruptive technology initiatives, and a various science and technology programs.

There will also be discussions on Naval Research Lab initiatives and Marine Corps Warfighting Lab topics.
