Buchanan & Edwards buys analytics services firm R2C

Buchanan & Edwards has added new analytics services for national security agencies through the purchase of R2C in BE's first-ever acquisition.

Buchanan & Edwards has purchased government consulting services contractor The Reports and Requirements Company -- also known as R2C -- to add new analytics-related work for agencies in the national security arena.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed and the deal represents BE’s first acquisition since the Washington, D.C.-based IT and consulting services contractor’s founding in 1998.

The deal seeks to help grow BE’s portfolio of analytics services across agencies in defense, intelligence, homeland security, law enforcement and the diplomatic corps.

Fairfax, Va.-based R2C is a woman-owned small business founded in 2008 that supports intelligence and other national security agencies in data governance, data curation, cyber intelligence, collection management and intelligence training.

R2C was formerly owned by CEO Katrina Barlow and Chief Operating Officer Kathy Rondon. The company will operate as a subsidiary of Buchanan & Edwards with the continued involvement of Barlow and Rondon, BE said.

Buchanan & Edwards holds positions on contract vehicles such as GSA’s Schedule 70, Alliant Small Business and Stars II; the FBI’s IT Triple S and ITSC blanket purchase agreements; the Navy’s SeaPort-e; and a Millennium Challenge Corp. BPA.

Holland & Knight represented Buchanan & Edwards during negotiations, while Greenberg Taurig held the same role in support of R2C.
