URS wins $63.3M contract to help Navy manage spectrum

URS Federal Services Inc. has won a $63.3 million contract for technical support around the use of the electromagnetic spectrum.

URS Federal Services Inc. has won a $63.3 million contract for technical support around the use of the electromagnetic spectrum.

The company will support the Navy and Marine Corps Spectrum Center. Most of the work will be done at Fort Meade, Md., but also globally including Bahrain, Guam and Naples.

The center works on a variety of electro-magnetic issues that impact command and control issues. It provides policy and strategic support as well resources and frequency management support.

The five-year contract runs through March 2022. It was competitively procured with two bidders counting URS.

The company will provide filed office support for planning, retention, protection and effective use of the electromagnetic spectrum.
