CGI Group has acquired a Boston-based business in a move that adds more capabilities to its digital technology and information management systems capabilities.

Collaborative Consulting has $76 million in annual revenue about 400 employees. Financial terms of the all cash deal were not disclosed.

Collaborative will become part of CGI Technologies and Solutions Inc., CGI’s U.S. based business.

“This combination is consistent with CGI’s well-articulated Build and Buy strategy to invest in both transformational and niche acquisitions that will spur future growth and expand coverage in targeted metro markets,” said George D. Schindler, president and CEO of CGI.

Collaborative adds to CGI’s footprint in Boston and the Northeast.

The company has several customers in the state and local market among labor, education and transportation related agencies. The company’s capabilities are focused on data analytics and digital platforms.

The company brings skills in what CGI said were high growth areas around improving usability, functionality and performance of digital platforms and information systems.
