Air Force adds $200M to cyber research contracts

Five companies got a nice boost to a multiple award contract they hold when the Air Force added another $200 million to the ceiling of a cybersecurity research contract.

The contract, known as Agile Cyber Technology, or ACT, supports the Air Force Research Laboratory. The ceiling is going from $300 million to $500 million.

Receiving contract modifications are:

• Assured Information Security Inc.
• CACI International
• Global Infotek Inc.
• Harris Corp.
• Radiance Technologies Inc.

A six company – L-3 National security Solutions – also received the modification but L-3 NSS was acquired by CACI earlier this year.

Under the contract the companies will compete for task orders for rapid development, prototyping, demonstration, evaluation and transition of cyber capabilities.

The modification also pushes the contract out three more years. It is now expected to expire Jan. 31, 2019.

According to Deltek, Assured Information Security has captured the most work with about $124 million in task orders, followed by CACI with $15.7 million and Radiance with $11.9 million. None of the other companies have more than $8 million in task orders.
