AAI Corp. to support Australian Army's Shadow UAV under $206.6M contract

AAI Corp. has won a $206.6 million contract to provide logistics sustainment services to the Australian Army for the Shadow RQ-7B unmanned aerial system.

AAI Corp. has won a $206.6 million contract to provide logistics sustainment services to the Australian Army for the Shadow RQ-7B unmanned aerial system.

The Shadow UAV is used by the U.S. Army, Australian Army and Swedish Army for reconnaissance, surveillance, target acquisition and battle damage assessment. The RQ-7B variant, launched in 2004, has longer wings which are more aerodynamic and increase fuel storage.

This contract is part of the Foreign Military Sales program.

Work will be performed in Hunt Valley, Md., and is expected to run through October 2017.
