Leidos has won a $40 million contract with the Defense Security Service to support the National Industrial Security System.

Leidos has won a $40 million contract with the Defense Security Service to support the National Industrial Security System.

The National Industrial Security Program ensures that the U.S. defense industry safeguards the classified information in their possession while performing work on contracts, programs, bids, or research and development efforts, according to the Defense Security Service website.

Under the contract, Leidos will develop an integrated, automated system to replace and expand upon the following systems:

  • Industrial Security Facilities Database
  • Electronic Facility Clearance System

Work will be performed in Columbia, Md., and is expected to be completed in September 2020.
