NAVAIR plans $160M IT contract for F-35 striker program
Naval Air Systems Command is developing a $160 million contract for knowledge-bases services to support the F-35 Lightning II Joint Program Office.
Naval Air Systems Command wants feedback on how to improve knowledge-based services for its F-35 Lightning II Joint Program Office and associated air systems.
The knowledge-based services would support to directorates, functional, and integrated product teams, which are all parts of the JPO, according to a new sources sought notice. The services would support systems engineering, contracting, IT, logistics, program management, and autonomous logistics information system, among others.
The JPO plans to develop a three-variant family of strike fighter aircraft to meet operational needs of the Air Force, Navy, the Marine Corps, and cooperative international services.
Officials anticipate a five-year, $160 million contract for the services. Its tasks include services such as:
- Program management
- Enterprise architecture, emerging capabilities, and testing
- Infrastructure engineering
- Operations management
- Helpdesk and training support
- Data, knowledge, and application management
- Information assurance
- Information and cybersecurity services for the F-35 JPO foreign liaison offices
- Information assurance security
- F-35 vault operations
The Naval Air Systems Command released its RFI May 23. Responses are due by June 3.
