Vencore Labs has won an $8.3 million contract to provide research and development to the Air Force.

Under the contract, the company will help the Air Force determine what to compute from signals emitted by a device during training and testing. The company will also help remove interference from other devices in the vicinity to make the signal clearer.

Work will be performed in Basking Ridge, N.J., and is expected to be completed in July 2015.

This is the third contract of its kind that the Air Force has awarded in the last two weeks. Last week, the Air Force awarded a similar, $12.6 million contract to Praxis Engineering. Two weeks ago, the Air Force awarded a $7.6 million signal R&D contract to Riverside Research Institute.

Of the 45 bidders, only three have won contracts so far, the Defense Department said in a release.
