Raytheon wins $20.6M contract to continue GPS support

Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems has won a $20.6 million contract modification to continue its support of the Air Force’s Global Positioning System Based Positioning, Navigation and Timing Service (GPNTS).

GPNTS provide GPS based positioning, navigation, and timing services to Navy platforms via a service oriented architecture based format to allow for improved user processing, coordination, and modularity, according to the Institute of Navigation’s website.

Under the contract, Raytheon will conduct requirements analysis, develop requirements documentation, develop software, and conduct testing to support successful integration of M-Code capable GPS into the GPNTS system, the Defense Department said in a release.

Work will be performed in San Diego, Calif., and is expected to be completed by Aug. 31, 2017.
