Lockheed wins $14.2M contract to support target system

Lockheed Martin has won a $14.2 million contract to provide the Navy with engineering requirements on the Target Sight System.

The TSS provides target identification and tracking, passive targeting for integrated weapons, including Hellfire missiles, and a laser-designation capability supporting friendly laser-guided weapons, the Defense Department said in a release.

The system is integrated into the AH-1Z Cobra attack helicopters. 

Under the contract, Lockheed Martin will provide software development and testing, system modification, testing, and installation requirements necessary to configure the TSS to the requirements of the government of Pakistan, the Defense Department said.

Work will be performed in Orlando, Fla., and Ocala, Fla., and is expected to be completed by December 2017.
