Universal Technology Corp. nabs $37.6M contract to support R&D efforts

Universal Technology Corp. has won a $37.6 million contract to provide the Air Force with scientific management advice for research and technology, or SMART.

Universal Technology Corp. has won a $37.6 million contract to provide the Air Force with scientific management advice for research and technology.

Under the contract, the company will provide advisory and assistance services encompassing professional engineering and management expertise.

Services will ensure the research and development conducted at the Air Force Research Laboratory’s Space Vehicles Directorate and Directed Energy Directorate can continue, the Defense Department said.

The laboratory directorates are acquiring strategic planning support that will ensure they maintain proper research and development technology focus, and obtain funding for current and future research and development needs.

Work will be performed at Kirtland Air Force Base, N.M., and is expected to be complete by Nov. 14, 2018.
