Raytheon wins $86.2M contract to upgrade Patriot system

Raytheon has won an $86.2 million contract modification to provide the Army with upgrade kits for the Patriot Integrated Air and Missile Defense system.

The upgraded systems will be able to better detect and identify targets, cost less to operate and maintain and have an increased reliability rate, Raytheon said in a release.

"When one country develops an upgrade or improvement to Patriot, that capability is made available to the entire 13-nation Partnership," said Ralph Acaba, Raytheon vice president of Integrated Air and Missile Defense.
