Air Force seeks small biz to handle telecom, voice transport services

The Air Force issued a small-business set-aside solicitation for telecommunications services to support its 87th Communications Squadron at the Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in New Jersey.

The Air Force is looking for a company that can provide the personnel, equipment, tools, materials, vehicles, supervision, and other items and services necessary to provide highly reliable telecommunications and networked voice, video, and data services.

The work would include the operation and maintenance, as well as related services, to ensure the voice transfer services infrastructure and systems are available 24 hours day and seven days a week.

The solicitation includes voice and data services in a converged Internet protocol/unified capabilities/time division multiplex/asynchronous transfer mode architecture. The systems will also include legacy telephone systems, Voice over Internet Protocol systems, outside plant and inside plant systems, transmission systems and related equipment.

The contract would include one base year and four option years.

It is set aside for 8(a)-certified small businesses.

The Air Force released its solicitation Sept. 23. Responses are due by Oct. 23.
