Insitu wins $8.8M contract to support RQ-21 Blackjack UAV

Insitu Inc. has won an $8.8 million contract with the Navy to support the RQ-21 Blackjack unmanned aerial vehicle.

The Boeing RQ-21 Blackjack UAV supports intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions using multi-intelligence payloads including day and night full-motion video cameras and automatic identification system receivers.

Under the contract, Insitu will provide logistics, training and field service representative support, the Defense Department said in a released.

Work will be performed at Marine Corps Air Station, Cherry Point, N.C., and in Bingen, Wash., and is expected to wrap up in February 2016.

Insitu is a subsidiary of Boeing. Boeing acquired the company in 2008 to bolster its unmanned vehicle capabilities. The two had been working together since 2002.
