Northrop Grumman wins $99M contract to perform T&E services

Northrop Grumman has won a $99 million contract to provide the Air Force with nuclear safety cross check analysis, performance analysis and technical evaluation and independent validation and verification.

Under the contract, the company will provide independent testing and evaluation of developer's software and hardware for impacts on Minuteman III nuclear safety.

The Minuteman III is a land-based intercontinental ballistic missile in service with the Air Force Global Strike Command.

Tests and evaluations are conducted to ensure that software meets approved specifications and nuclear safety requirements. It also ensures that software does not contain errors or deficiencies that could lead to violations of the Department of Defense nuclear weapon system safety standards, the Defense Department said in a release.

Work will be performed in El Segundo, Calif., and Layton, Utah, and is expected to be completed by September 30, 2020.
