GD wins $1.3M task order for cloud initiaitve at Sandia National Lab

General Dynamics Information Technology has won a $1.3 million task order to provide strategic support for the design and development of a cloud initiative at Sandia National Laboratories.

General Dynamics Information Technology has won a $1.3 million task order to provide strategic support for the design and development of a cloud initiative at Sandia National Laboratories.

Sandia National Laboratories is operated by Sandia Corp., a Lockheed Martin subsidiary, and is federally funded by the Energy Department’s National Nuclear Security Administration.

Under the contract, General Dynamics will assist in modernizing Sandia's IT environment by developing the foundation for sustainable, cost-effective cloud computing capabilities for the lab, the company said in a release.

The company will also develop the business framework, processes, service models, technical architecture and implementation plans that will guide Sandia's staff as it deploys the new IT model, General Dynamics said.
