SPAWAR seeks small businesses for info assurance, anti-spoofing assessments

The Navy wants a continual assessment of the latest in information assurance techniques and emerging anti-spoofing technology that may impact global positions system user equipment security.

The Space and Naval Warfare System Command’s (SPAWAR) Navigation System with Timing and Ranging (NAVSTAR) GPS provides accurate position and navigation data that virtually all military systems use for ships, aircraft, command, control, communications computers, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C4ISR), and weapons systems.

SPAWAR is considering a contract to develop security evaluation methodologies for military user equipment, create protection templates to standardize across information assurance requirements, conducting modeling and simulation, and be involved in working groups.

The five-year contract will be a small business set-aside and has an estimated value of $10 million.

SPAWAR also wants to stay current on anti-spoofing (AS) technologies. The contract’s tasks would include system design, modeling and simulation, integration, analysis of interoperability, and adaptability. In addition, SPAWAR wants assessments and analyses of AS working groups and vendor designs.

SPAWAR released its solicitation Jan. 16. Responses are due by Feb. 17.
