Apprio taps new EVP of homeland security operations

Apprio has named Michael Pena executive vice president of the company’s homeland security operations business.

Apprio has named Michael Pena executive vice president of the company’s homeland security operations business.

In his new role, Pena will oversee Apprio’s growing homeland security practice that includes work with the Homeland Security Department, the National Disaster Medical System and the U.S. Coast Guard, the company said in a release.

Pena joins Apprio from Brookhaven National Laboratory, where he managed the company’s Laboratory Protection division. Before BNL, he worked as director of response operations for DHS REMA Region 2. In addition to DHS and FEMA, he has held positions at the General Services Administration and the U.S. Special Operations Command.
