SAIC wins $49.2M Navy contract to support mine warfare missions

SAIC has won a potentially $49.2 million sole source contract to provide the Navy with a system that supports the service’s existing and emerging mine warfare missions, users and systems.

SAIC has won a potentially $49.2 million sole source contract to provide the Navy with a system that supports the service’s existing and emerging mine warfare missions, users and systems.

The contract has a base value of $12.2 million.

Under the contract, SAIC will provide the Mine Warfare and Environmental Decision Aids Library system, or MEDAL, which provides mine warfare situational awareness, mission planning and evaluation and asset management software, the Defense Department said in a release.

Work will take place at various locations within the United States and is expected to be completed September 2015.
