Northrop Grumman has won a $354 million contract to add three more RQ-4 Global Hawk UAVs to the Air Force’s fleet.

The Global Hawk’s primary utilization is to gather ISR information.

This contract brings the total number of Global Hawk aircraft that the Air Force owns to 37 by 2017.

"Even as Global Hawk flight hours increase each year, we are striving to reduce the overall operating cost of the system for the Air Force," said Mick Jaggers, Global Hawk program manager.
