Two win contracts to support Army infrared system

Northrop Grumman has won a $10 million contract to provide the Army with limited scope services in support of its Common Infrared Countermeasure Technology Development phase system.

Two companies have won contracts to provide the Army with limited scope services.

The winners are:

  • Northrop Grumman – $10 million
  • BAE Systems – $8 million

These services will go to support the Army’s Common Infrared Countermeasure Technology Development phase system, the Defense Department said in a release.

The system is part of the Common Infrared Countermeasures program, which is an Army initiative to develop a lightweight, low-cost laser-based infrared projection system for helicopters and light fixed-wing aircraft.

Work will be performed in Rolling Meadows, Ill., and is expected to wrap up March 14, 2015.
