Air Force releases RFP for IT repository system support

The Air Force released a request for proposals July 18 for system maintenance and sustainment support of its enterprise IT data repository (EITDR).

The Air Force intends to award one five-year, 8(a) small business set-aside contract for the support work. Nevertheless, the department said it will not make the award until fiscal 2015 funds become available. They currently are unavailable.

The Air Force’s EITDR is the go-to source for its IT inventory questions and data. It provides details on what the Air Force has in terms IT and is the authoritative repository of IT investment compliance information to the Defense Department, the Office of Management and Budget, and Congress.

The set-aside contract would include services related to portfolio management. The Air Force wants support related to setting up EITDR processes and practices to evaluate, prioritize, budget and then plan for IT investments that offer the greatest value to its mission.

The winning contractor will help develop financial strategies in areas such as IT system lifecycle costs and investments, as well as setting architecture standards for EITDR.

The contract award will be awarded on lowest price, technically acceptable evaluation criteria. 

The Air Force will accept proposals until Aug. 18.
