DHS planning industry day for enterprise computing initiative
The Homeland Security Department is planning an industry day for its Enterprise Computing Services initiative and will likely use the Eagle II contract for the procurement.
The Homeland Security Department is planning a follow-up industry day to discuss its Enterprise Computing Services (ECS) initiative and will announce the date, location and time in late June.
The ECS initiative is the agency’s attempt to shift away from a traditional data center hosting model.
The agency plans to use the EAGLE II contract’s functional category 3 for independent test, validation, verification and evaluation. The task order will be competed among the small business winners of that track.
The industry day will be a follow-up to its 2013 request for information. DHS asked for companies’ input to determine whether its objectives associated with the ECS initiative were feasible and realistic.
The initiative is focused on providing a portfolio of computing services that will enable DHS’ business units to carry out their mission objectives and also provide cost-effective, security and reliable services.
