DynCorp teams with TAPS to support fallen contractors' families

In a move to provide support to families of contractors killed in the line of duty, DynCorp International signed a memorandum of agreement with Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) on Monday, the first such agreement between TAPS and a private company.
TAPS has similar agreements with each branch of the U.S. military, DynCorp noted in a news release, but Monday’s agreement marked a first for the contracting community.
The agreement will give family members of fallen DynCorp personnel access to TAPS’ array of support services, which include peer-based emotional support, grief and trauma resources, grief seminars for adults, Good Grief Camps for children, case work assistance, connections to community-based care and a 24/7 resource and information helpline.
Since 1994, TAPS has offered support to more than 35,000 surviving family members of fallen military and their caregivers.
