Lockheed wins $93M option to produce Aegis system in Poland

Lockheed Martin Mission Systems and Training has won a $93 million option to produce Aegis Ashore Missile Defense System in Poland and to provide funding for Aegis Weapon System MK 7 equipment sets.

 

Lockheed Martin Mission Systems and Training has won a $93 million option to produce Aegis Ashore Missile Defense System in Poland and to provide funding for Aegis Weapon System MK 7 equipment sets.

Aegis, which means shield in Greek, is a command and control system that uses computers and radars and other systems to track and guide defensive and offensive weapons.

Work will be performed in Moorestown, N.J., Clearwater, Fla., and Akron, Ohio, and is expected to be completed by September 2021.
