Alion grows Air Force contract to nearly $1B
Alion Science and Technology has won a $12.9 million contract modification to provide the Air Force with technical and analytical support, pushing the total value of the contract to nearly $1 billion.

The modification brings the original contract value up to $970 million, and extends the fourth option until Dec. 31, 2015.
Under the contract, Alion provides programmatic analyses; policy analyses; budget analyses; administrative technical support; facilities engineering services; business reengineering analyses; database development; internet/intranet development; software application development; legislative analyses; engineering/technical consulting support; and acquisition consulting services, the Defense Department said.
The contract also caters to multiple customers, including assistant secretary of the Air Force for acquisition, Joint Strike Fighter Program Office, SAF/FML, Air Force Program Executive Office, Aircraft & Space Launch, Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, the Air Force Scientific Advisory Board and other Headquarters Air Force organizations.
Work will be performed in Arlington, Va., and Washington, D.C., and is expected to be completed by Dec. 31, 2015.
