CGI Federal quietly replaces leader

Donna Ryan has stepped down as president of CGI Federal, and the company has tapped a former secretary of Veterans Affairs to take her place.

After two years on the job, Donna Ryan has stepped down as president of CGI Federal.

A company spokeswoman said Ryan's departure was a planned retirement.

The company has made no official announcement of the change, but Ryan has been replaced by retired Army Lt. Gen. James Peake.

Ryan took over the position of president of CGI Federal in October 2011 after George Schindler became president of U.S. and Canada operations.

Peake joined CGI in 2010. During the George W. Bush administration, he served as secretary of Veterans Affairs. His military service included a four-year stint as the Army’s surgeon general.

Before becoming president of CGI Federal, he was a senior vice president with the company.
