Two small businesses win contracts for Navy navigation systems

Systems Engineering Support Co. and Micro USA have won contracts to produce Navigation Sensor System Interface, or NAVSSI, hardware for the U.S. Navy.

Systems Engineering Support Co. and Micro USA have won contracts to produce Navigation Sensor System Interface, or NAVSSI, hardware for the U.S. Navy.

The contract values are:

  • Systems Engineering – $18.6 million
  • Micro USA – $17.6 million

The NAVSSI interface collects, processes, integrates and formats distribution positioning, navigation and timing data for weapon systems, combat support systems, C4ISR systems and other information systems users, the Defense Department said in a release.

Work will be performed in San Diego, Calif., and Poway, Calif., nd is expected to be completed by December 2019.

Funding in the amount of $498,000 is obligated to Systems Engineering Support Co., and $496,000 is obligated to Micro USA at the time of the award, and will not expire at the end of fiscal 2014.

Four bids were received for this contract.
