LLR taps former Sotera CEO as operating partner

LLR Partners has named John Hillen operating partner, where he will help evaluate new investment opportunities in the security, defense and government services sectors, as well as support the leadership and strategy development of the private equity firm's existing portfolio companies.

In May 2013, Hillen stepped down from his position of president of CEO of Sotera Defense Solutions, and continued on with the company in the role of vice chairman of Sotera’s advisory board.

Before joining Sotera in 2008, Hillen served as assistant Secretary of State for Political-Military Affairs.

He also once served as the president of CGI Federal.

Hillen holds a bachelor’s degree from Duke University, a master’s from King’s College London, a doctorate degree from Oxford, and an MBA from Johnson School of Management at Cornell.
