NGA seeks software organizer
The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency is tired of managing its software contracts and is looking to hire a contractor to help.
The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency wants an organizer for its software contracts.
The agency has been contracting with more than 100 individual software manufacturers for their products, but it’s had enough. Now the agency is considering handing the organizing efforts to a manager, according to a request for information released Dec. 16.
Officials would like to allocate funding to a management company and allow that company to make purchases for the NGA. That company would then invoice NGA for what it purchased.
To manage the portfolio, the tasks would include tracking the renewal dates for software licenses, making purchases, maintaining a price list and license keys, and applying NGA-specific contract terms and conditions to the purchases.
NGA wants responses to the RFI by Jan. 10.
