IT procurement reform is not included on a defense policy bill that appeared likely to pass the House and Senate, according to Nextgov.

A stand-alone version of the Federal Information Technology Acquisition Reform Act, or FITARA, should pass the House and Senate next year, however, house sponsors were quoted as saying.

FITARA is designed to give agency CIOs full authority over technology spending and limit agencies to one person with the CIO title, Nextgov reported.
