The Marine Corps is looking to add a web application for career services and networking support to its Marine for Life, or M4L, system.
The service needs an electronic network solution to facilitate employment, education and community resource opportunities for over 35,000 Marines transitioning to civilian life each year, according to the sources sought notice.
The system will also support military spouses and employers looking to hire veterans and spouses. It will system will connect users with educational, employment and other resources.
The Marine Corps wants user friendly features that will allow users to create profiles, post resumes and other documents and provide search features around job opportunities, military skills and regional requirements.
The system also will need case management features to help the personal and professional development staffs support Marines and their families transition to civilian life.
The Marine Corps is looking to use commercial off-the-shelf technology in order to provide an interim capability prior to the implementation of a Defense Department solution, which is expected to come online within the next three years.
