Harris nabs $65M contract to support Air Force satellite network
Harris has won a $65 million contract with the Air Force to support both the Air Force Satellite Control Network and GPS antenna sites around the world
Harris Information Technology Services Corp. has won a $65 million option to provide the U.S. Air Force with operations, maintenance and logistics support of the Air Force Satellite Control Network.
Under the option, Harris will also provide maintenance and logistics support of the Global Positioning System antenna sites around the globe.
The contract supports various communications, operations, software and related support services for the 50th Space Wing, Schriever Air Force Base, Colo., and the 50th Space Wing’s geographically separated units.
Work will take place at a number of Air Force stations, bases and facilities across the United States and abroad, and is expected to be completed by Sept. 29, 2014.
Funding in the amount of $52.6 million is expected to be obligated by Sept. 30, 2013, the Defense Department said.
