Lockheed expands work on Aegis combat systems

Lockheed Martin has won a contract modificatin with the Navy to provide activity, engineering support to Aegis combat system.

Lockheed Martin Maritime Systems and Sensors has won a $9.5 million contract modification to incrementally fund activities and engineering related to the Aegis combat system.

Under the contract, Lockheed Martin will work on the Aegis Platform Systems Engineering Agent activities and Aegis Modernization Advanced Capability Build engineering.

Work will be performed in Moorestown, N.J., and is expected to be completed by September 2014.

Funding in the full amount of the contract modification is obligated at the time of the award, and will not expire at the end of fiscal 2013.
