So-to-be Accenture business wins $20M Army training contract

Accenture acquisition target ASM Research won a $20.2 million Army contract for development of a system that matches manpower needs with individual training.

Accenture’s acquisition target ASM Research has won a $20.2 million Army contract for a training requirements and resources system.

The award is a modification to an existing task order contract, and brings the total value of the contract to $39.8 million.

The training requirements and resources system helps match manpower needs with individual training. It determines training requirements, training programs, manages class schedules and makes reservations for training. It also tracks and records attendance.

Accenture announced last week that it was acquiring ASM Research for an undisclosed amount. The deal was by Accenture’s desire to bolster its federal health care practice, although AMS has a substantial training and human capital management business as well. Customers include the assistant secretary of the Army for manpower and reserve affairs, the Army Training and Doctrine Command, and the Air Force Acquisition Training Office.

The company has 480 employees and after the acquisition by Accenture will operate as a subsidiary led by Accenture executive Jim Traficant.
