Northrop to provide materials support for Hawkeye production

Northrop Grumman has won a $9.3 million option with the U.S. Navy to provide long lead materials and related support for the production of five E-2D Advanced Hawkeye Lot 2 aircraft.

The E-2D Advanced Hawkeye aircraft gives the warfighter expanded battlespace awareness, especially in the area of information operations. It delivers battle management, theater air and missile defense, and multiple sensor fusion capabilities in an airborne system, Northrop Grumman said.

This option also converts the contract to a fixed-price procurement, the Defense Department said.

Work will be performed in Syracuse, N.Y., Bethpage, N.Y., El Segundo, Calif., Chicago, Ill., Menlo Park, Calif., Indianapolis, Ind., Cleveland, Ohio, Aire-Sur-L'Adour, France, Owego, N.Y., Torrance, Calif., Edgewood, N.Y., and Falls Church, Va., and is expected to be completed by March 2014. 

Funding in the full amount of the contract is obligated at the time of the award, and will not expire at the end of fiscal 2013.
