Virtual Imaging Inc. wins $111M radiology contract with Defense Department

Virtual Imaging Inc. has won a contract with the Defense Logistics Agency to provide it with radiology systems.

Virtual Imaging Inc. has won a $111 million option to provide the Defense Logistics Agency with radiology systems, subsystems and components.

This is the second contract of its kind in two days; the Defense Logistics Agency awarded MinXray Inc. a similar $103 million contract yesterday.

Virtual Imaging Inc. specializes in the sale, service and maintenance of new and remanufactured diagnostic imaging equipment.

This is the fourth option of this contract, which is a fixed-price, economic-price-adjustment contract that has a one-year base and eight option years.

Work will take place in Florida, and is expected to be completed by June 2014.
