Air Force seeks small-biz support for F-16 upgrade

The Air Force is conducting market research to see if any small businesses are available to provide IT and engineering support for upgrades to several systems on the F-16 fighter jet.

The Air Force is developing a small-business contract for a variety of engineering and IT support for the F-16 fighter jet.

The service is looking for contractors in any small business categories that can help upgrade and provide engineering services for several F-16 systems.

The following systems will need to be supported:

  • Commercial Central Interface Unit
  • Digital Video Recorder
  • Advanced Color Programmable Display Generator
  • Advance Operational Flight Program
  • Hardware support

Some of the equipment that the Air Force wants support for is supplied by Elbit Systems LTD.

Services that the Air Force is looking for include design, trial verification installation, manufacturing and test and follow-on production support.

The Air Force said the sources sought notice is for market research purposes to see if any small businesses are capable of providing these kinds of services.

Responses to the notice are due June 6. The solicitation number is FA8224-13-F160FP.
