Lockheed wins $53M contract to integrate minehunting system
Lockheed Martin has won a contract with the Navy to maintain, test and integrate a minesweeping system onto Littoral Combat Ships.
Lockheed Martin has won a $52.9 million contract with the U.S. Navy to perform maintenance, testing and integration of a minehunting system onto Littoral Combat Ship mission modules.
Under the cost-plus-fixed-fee contract, the company will maintain, test and integrate the Remote Minehunting System with LCS mission modules and seaframe programs.
Work will be performed in Palm Beach, Fla., and in Syracuse, N.Y., and is expected to be completed by May 2016.
Funds in the amount of $8.5 million were obligated at the time of the award, and will not expire at the end of fiscal 2013.
