Is health IT risking patient safety?
The FDA has formed a work group to look at patient safety risks posed by health IT.
The Food and Drug Administration Safety Innovation Act Workgroup discussed health IT risks that affect patient safety on Monday, Health IT Security reported.
The group wants to figure out how to characterize patient safety risks. One factor includes identifying the types, magnitude and likelihood of patient safety risk that may be posed by health IT.
Another factor included identifying critical factors that any framework should include to address/mitigate identified risks related to patient study, Health IT Security said.
