Why: KEYW was a runner-up in this category last year when it made three acquisitions. This year, its dealmaking again focused on building cybersecurity, systems engineering and other mission-oriented services for the intelligence community. The crown jewel and largest deal was the pickup of Poole and Associates, which brought 1,000 more employees, 800 of whom have top-secret security clearances. The company provides systems and software engineering, program management support, and technical training to customers in the intelligence community.
